BLACK AND BIRDS / BLU

BLACK AND BIRDS / BLU

The blue version of Liliana Moro’s Balck and Birds recalls the colour of the sky and the sea, the light of Grado reflected in the Adriatic on one side and in the lagoon on the other. A flock of bee-eaters, migratory birds with strong colours, stands out on the sliding wall of the flat. An architectural movement that echoes the movement of the flight of the bee-eater birds portrayed.

Liliana Moro‘s research ranges from sound to installations, performances and objects; everything is a tool for reaching the essence of things, treating artistic material in a direct, rigorous and equally poetic way.

Stimulated by experimentation with a new medium, the artist carries out a disruptive action: she eliminates the wall, transforming it into a black sky whose depth seems infinite. She brings emptiness into closed spaces. It is in the contrast that the beauty lies, the choice of a figuration symbolising flight, open air and freedom transposed onto an element that has traditionally been used to decorate interiors.

Black & Birds is a work whose static nature evokes movement. It is the flock moving, fast approaching. In the silence you can almost hear its wing beats.
